From Literature to Digital Clicks: My Journey at Groveus Informatics as a Content Writer

Hello there! I am Anjali Prasad, a Content Writer by both passion and profession at Groveus. If you were to ask me to introduce myself in a few words, I will be introducing myself as a human being that finds peace, power and purpose- all in the world of words.

Diving back into my background, I come from somewhere where both my imagination and reality are deeply connected in this lifelong passion. I hold both my Graduation and Post Graduation degree in English Language and Literature, where I have spent 5 amazing years where I have dissected classic literary texts, connected with the tragic novel characters, and analysed complex poetries. And, knowing all about these has made me understand the profound and subtle impact of linguistic nuances naturally paving the way for my career. And having pushed myself into literary study for several years, I have known the ideology, impacts, patterns and theories of great writers, novelists and poets between 15th to 20th century.

However, transitioning from the academic study of literature to the dynamic, fast-paced world of digital content creation is a unique journey of its own, full of constant learning and reinvention.

And talking about this, after working for a few years as an Academic Research Writer, I decided to give a beautiful turn to my career exactly six months ago. Like many professionals looking for the right fit, I was spending my evenings scrolling through a popular job-hunting website, filtering through job openings of company profiles. I was searching for a role that wouldn't just treat me as a word-producing machine, but an environment that would genuinely value the craft of writing. That is when I got through an opening at Groveus Informatics Pvt. Ltd.

Fast forward to today, and I have just completed my fifth month working here. Looking back, submitting my application for that position was one of the best professional decisions I have ever made.

As I work now at Groveus as a Content Writer, people ask me about my writing process as I do this professionally every day.

The most common question that I have been asked is- “How do you go from a blank screen to a polished piece of content?”

The answer to this is, over the time, I have developed a specific, tried-and-true strategy that works wonders for me, and the environment at Groveus has given me the space to perfect it.

The first thing that I do after getting the topic for the day is research, a deep thorough research. Because, I am a firm believer that you cannot write clearly about something you do not thoroughly understand yourself. So for that I rely on platforms like Google and ChatGPT to gather raw information and untangle complex concepts. I make it a strict point to read through at least five to six different websites on the given topic. I don’t just skim; I read to gain absolute clarity, and only then I take notes in my notebook about what information I got, what I understood and what to deliver to the client out there.

After all these, here comes the most daunting yet important part of a writer’s day, that is creating a draft on that blank page on Google Docs. To be honest, it does not matter how experienced you are at your job, but once you see the black cursor blinking on the blank sheet, you keep staring at it thinking- “what should I write?”

Every writer feels the same when it is about drafting the first couple of words, making it sound like a valid sentence and completing the very first paragraph with more such sentences. Meanwhile, I do not think much and start with reading the topic once and pour all my ideas and research in the form of words, sentences and paragraphs into that blank sheet on Google Docs.

And gradually this way I gain the momentum and within 2 hours, I complete writing a 1000 words article. And once done, I then start reading what I just wrote for 2 to 3 times to get the flow, rhythm and an idea on what to edit, where to fix grammar, where to give the best phrasing.

This is where the real magic happens, i.e. the editing part. See, everyone and anyone can write a couple of pages while researching on the internet. But, fitting each word properly into a sentence and sentences into a paragraph is something that requires your time, effort, thinking and true dedication, which only writers can do peacefully.

Also, being in an IT company, technology plays a massive role here. So after I am done with my writing, editing, proofreading and formatting part, I start with the SEO part i.e. Search Engine Optimisation, where I use accessible and industry standard tools such as SEMrush, Google Keyword Planner, Google Search Console, Yoast SEO, Rank Math, and some other resources for keyword research, Google searches, SERP analysis, competitor research and so on.

To let you know, we do SEO before hitting the publish button for the content to reach a greater audience.

For me writing is something that makes me feel proud of my skill when a reader reads my content, recommends to others or says, “Okay, it was much easier. I just needed this page of content to understand the topic”, and trust me this is something we writers write and thrive for. These words are our achievements more than any other expensive gifts or fancy awards.

It is true that at times, we writers also feel frustrated, irritated and demotivated, but that does not mean we do not love our job, but rather working in this company has helped me find out how to balance your work and life all at the same time with involving in a culture where employees are being heard, understood and prioritised. Our company has provided me with that support and belief which are necessary to thrive for something better, and lately this helped me ensure that every time I open a new blank page in Google Docs, I bring my best and most creative self to the table.

Looking back into my journey at Groveus, the last five months working here as a Content Writer has made me feel an immense sense of gratitude and excitement to work better in the near future. From my academic roots, i.e. holding a degree in English Literature to writing short and engaging two, four liners, analysing trends and answering for them on Quora, researching academic papers and writing for academic pupils; Groveus has provided me the opportunity to contribute to its dynamic goals.

Writing is a never ending process of learning new things, inculcating those in your work and evolving through the result. To my fellow writers, just thrive your world with words the way you kept doing. And the newbie writers out there, do not fear the blank page, trust your research and whatever comes into your mind, just pour them into that blank white page, trust me, you will be amazed at the result itself, just take the first step.
