Learn how I research, structure and write SEO-friendly service pages at Groveus using search intent, competitor research, the One Idea Rule and real user questions.

How I Write a Well-Structured Service Page at Groveus Without Using “Lorem Aipsum”

I didn't join Groveus thinking I'd become an SEO content writer. I joined as a content writer. That was it.

After completing my graduation in Bachelor of Computer Application, yes BCA it is. With my writing skills, which I’ve developed from the age of 10 (journaling & brain dumping), I got an opportunity to join Groveus through a friend who was already working there as a web developer.

At that point, my writing world was different. I was interested in personal writing, self-help and personal development. I was writing for myself, experimenting with ideas and publishing some of that work on my Substack.

I wasn't thinking much about search intent, service pages, Google rankings, AI Overviews or heading structures. Then I joined Groveus, where things changed.

Here, I realized that writing for a website isn't about writing good sentences. A service page, a blog, a homepage has a job of their own that we need to showcase. Each heading, paragraph, link and local reference has a reason for being there.

Let’s go through my takeaways one by one.

1. You Need to Understand What You Are Writing About

Before I open Google, ChatGPT or any other tool, I want to know one thing: What exactly is this service?

Is it a technology service? Is it SEO? Is it website development? Is it content for a packers and movers company? Is it a tour and travel service? Is it a service offered by Groveus itself?

This matters because I can't write useful content about something I don't understand.

If I'm writing a service page for a software company, I need to understand the service from a business owner's point of view. If I'm writing about packers and movers, I need to understand what a customer worries about before booking.

The topic comes first, and then writing comes second.

2. I Prefer Doing Manual Google Research First

This is the biggest part of my work. I search manually. I look at search results, open competitor pages, study their headings, examine what questions they're answering and notice what they're completely ignoring.

I wrote a comprehensive service page for SEO company in Siliguri recently. I studied competitors like Digital Piloto and Cyber Help India and compared what they were doing well with what Groveus could do better.

That comparison is important and I'm not trying to copy them. I'm trying to understand why Google is giving that page visibility in the first place.

What information does it have? How specific is it? Does it answer the searcher's actual question? Does it have local signals? Does it show proof? Does it explain pricing? Does it have useful FAQs?

Then I ask a more interesting question: What can we do better?

This approach helped us build our Groveus Siliguri SEO page, which is currently positioned on page 1 for its target search. The live page itself uses an answer-first opening, local references, service explanations, pricing, comparisons and FAQs.

That's not accidental. There's a structure and good hands behind it.

3. My Favourite: One Idea Rule

This is one of the powerful writing principles I've learned. I call it the One Idea Rule. It says every piece of your post, blog or article should express only one idea.

For instance, you are writing an article. There will be three parts you'll be working with: the title, the sentences, and the paragraphs. Each of these parts should be dedicated to one idea. The ideas should not be identical, of course, but they have to be related.

Here’s How This Rule Looks Like in Practice

Instead of using headings like:

How Our SEO Services Help Businesses Grow Through Technical Optimisation, Content, Local Search and Better Rankings

I’d rather write:

What We Do as a Well-Established SEO Company to Improve Your Website’s Search Visibility

Then explain the answer.

After that:

On-Page SEO

One idea.

Technical SEO

One idea.

Local SEO

One idea.

Off-Page SEO

One idea.

This makes the page easier for a human to scan and easier for search systems to understand.

The Groveus SEO strategy material follows a similar direction: simple headings, direct answers, structured service sections, comparison tables and FAQ blocks that match real questions.

This Is Where “Lorem Aipsum” Comes In

There's an inside idea I picked up from Balaji, a tech expert. He calls it “Lorem Aipsum.” For non tech background folks, Lorem Aipsum is the funnier version of Lorem Ipsum, a placeholder text used in designs and pages to fill up the empty blocks.

For me, it's a funny way of describing content that looks like content but doesn't actually say anything. You know the type. Beautiful heading. Three paragraphs. Lots of impressive words.

And after reading the whole thing, you're still wondering: What exactly is this page trying to tell me? But in my writing process, “Lorem Aipsum” has a different meaning.

It means: Don't fill a page just because the page needs to look full. Say something useful and that became one of the biggest lessons I've learned.

4. Build The Structure Before Writing The Full Page

Once I understand the topic and competitors, I create the structure. I think about the questions a person would ask before buying the service.

For a service page, it will be:

  • What is this service?

  • Who needs it?

  • What does it include?

  • How does the process work?

  • How much does it cost?

  • Why should I choose this provider?

  • What problems can they solve?

  • What questions would I ask before contacting them?

Then I turn those questions into headings. This also helps with AI search.

A well-structured page makes information easier to extract. A clear question followed by a clear answer is much more useful than a long paragraph trying to explain everything at once.

Our Groveus content strategy also treats FAQs, numbered processes and comparison sections as useful formats for AI-answer visibility.

5. Start Writing by Following This 5 Point Guide

  1. Follow the One Idea Rule we discussed above

  2. Use AI for research, not to replace your thinking

  3. Write for the person first, Google second

  4. Write first, edit later (Trust me on this!)

  5. Read more than you write so you can write well

Write like you’re actually having a conversation. A true talk with yourself, your colleague, your boss and customers.

The tools I use:

Google Trends

Helps me understand search interest and keyword direction.

Google News

Useful when I need current local developments, industry stories or regional context.

Google Search results

Still one of my most important research tools because that's where I can see what is actually ranking.

ChatGPT

Helps with general research, brainstorming and structure.

Grammarly

Comes later, mainly for checking and editing.

Awesome Screenshot

Useful when I need to capture a competitor page, reference, SERP or another resource for later.

I use tools not to replace my knowledge but to support it. The tools above proves that.

Content Writing Has No Finish Line

This is my favourite thing about my work. There's always something else and new to learn.

When I started at Groveus, I thought I was joining as a content writer. I didn't realize how much SEO, research, technology, business thinking and user psychology would become part of my job.

I am still learning and that’s the interesting part. Content writing isn't a skill you finish. It's a long game. You write something today, learn something tomorrow, go back to yesterday's work and realize you could have written it better.

Then you write again. That's not failure. That's the job. And that's what I like. There's always another page to improve with something new adding to it.
